Transfer of Knowledge Barriers
Employee communication overload is a disease created
by a drug called "information."
We have always felt pressure to do more with the limited working hours in the day, but
today the information highway is like a sunami -- every 90 days the amount of
information out there goes up by 15%, while simultaneously we get barraged by long
emails, outright spam and instant messaging which joins the old traditional junk snail
mail and phone telemarketers.
Additionally the time needed to get the base information we need quickly over the Internet,
is increasing to the point that many of us need to get off the information highway before
our productivity decreases (but not right now since we want you to finish reading this
information!).
The real key to productivity today for people needing knowledge is to find and filter
very targeted information. The providers of the knowledge must condense and present
the knowledge in smaller pieces to increase the impact and digestibility while being
able to be accessed within overburdened time schedules. Companies can insure both of
these are accomplished within the proper Rapid Knowledge Delivery toolset, plan and
process.
As Bill Jensen reviewed on our October 22, 2004 Business Best Practice Radio Show
interview, it's a matter of cutting through the clutter to "Compete on Clarity".
He reviewed the conclusions of the extensive research in his book and then offered
listeners detailed short, concise, multi-media lessons he created via a private code
given out in that interview.
Listening to that interview and watching those concise lessons will not only outline
what it will take (including examples of how to dramatically shorten and make emails
more effective), it will actually show you a one two combination of new communication
tools that can help you leap the considerable barriers to knowledge transfer.

used in October could be used to further "Compete on Clarity." To listen

Remember, Rapid Knowledge Delivery is based on a simplified process and toolset that is
customer focused, communication based, and results oriented. It can overcome the current
barriers to knowledge transfer because it sees personal communication rather than
information or technology, as a way to solve a majority of the problems threatening
productivity.
Everyone understands that "Less is more" is a communication guideline we follow when
using a telephone - it is even more essential to support the faster, lower-cost and
higher quality objectives of Rapid Knowledge Delivery.
